We want to share some of the ways your donation has benefited Believers in the Land: M.A., his wife and two children arrived in Israel only six months ago. M.A. was already a believer when he left Russia. His family immediately began attending a congregation and shortly thereafter, his son accepted Messiah. M.A. is a talented musician and now serves on the congregation worship team. Upon arriving in Israel, M.A. signed a contract to rent an apartment. The real estate agency took unfair advantage of M.A. and his family and their lack of experience in Israel and overcharged them thousands of shekels. The congregation tried to help them get justice by consulting with a lawyer. Alas it was too late, because he had signed the contract although he did not understand it. M.A. has good job skills and this need appears to be temporary. NCC provided a grant of NIS 2000 A.F., an immigrant from South America, lives alone. Two years ago, she broke her leg. After several operations, her leg still was not right and she could not work. This past summer, she broke her OTHER leg and was totally incapacitated. Her congregation has been sending volunteers who visit her and help with basic needs. A.F. had a serious problem in unpaid rent and the congregation was unable to help. She is trying to manage on a government subsidy that supplies less than what her rent is by itself. The NCC provided NIS 5000, which almost covers her accumulative rent bill. R.O. is a single mother with a daughter and a learning disabled son. She held a teaching job in a Christian school for 13 years. She managed on her salary, but a year ago she was laid off like thousands of others. She received unemployment checks for a few months, but that ended. Her congregation gave her a modest gift on two occasions and they have helped take care of her children for an extended time, but they are unable to do more. She is trying hard to find a new job, but in the meanwhile she is struggling to meet her basic expenses as well as dealing with depression and loneliness. She is having a particularly hard time with being a "needy person" since she was always independent until now. NIS 1500 provided three months of care. We would like to continue to support her future needs. I.V. is an immigrant from Russia with a disabled son. She was already a Believer when she came to Israel and found a Messianic congregation on her second day in the country. She has been a solid member for three years now. She works and earns a low-to-average salary but often does not have enough for basic expenses including medication for her son. Her congregation has tried to help with occasional gifts and volunteering to help care for her son. Now she finds that she needs urgent dental work to avoid losing her teeth. NIS 3000 supplied part of her needs and another source supplied the rest. F.K. underwent a serious operation four months ago and has not worked since. Her husband, S.K., is working but does not make enough to buy the medication F.K. needs as well as pay the rent and utilities. F.K. has been attending her congregation for three years and they helped her with a gift three months ago. Unfortunately, she now finds she requires another operation for the same problem. Aid of NIS 4270 was given.
